Fully-Integrated Solid Shunt Planar Transformer for LLC Resonant Converters

A new topology for achieving high leakage inductance in inserted-shunt integrated magnetic planar transformers is proposed. In the proposed topology, two one-segment shunts are placed across E-core air gap and between primary secondary windings. The benefits using solid inexpensive ferrite shunts, making manufacturing easier. detailed mathematical model derived from which a design methodology developed, providing accurate estimation magnetising inductances. theoretical analysis has been verified finite-element experimental implementation. AC resistance efficiency comparison also presented recent with inserted-segmental-shunt, shows provides higher because of lower resistance. addition, an isolated LLC resonant converter designed built to investigate performance practice. three components needed single transformer operates properly.
